Sarah Woods

Sarah grew up in Wyoming, and graduated from the University of Wyoming. She has often attributed her painting style to life at high altitude. Her colors are crisp and bold, her lighting is dramatic, just like the landscapes and wildlife she has spent her life watching. Sarah now lives high in the mountains of South Central Colorado with her husband and two daughters. It is an area of sparse population and incredible scenic beauty. Their home lies in one of Colorado’s richest and most diverse wildlife areas for elk, deer, pronghorn, bighorn sheep and black bear. Her high altitude painting style has earned her numerous awards and recognition. She was called one of the most promising young wildlife artists in the country by Stephen Doherty, editor of “American Artist”. She has been awarded both the Founders Favorite and the Juror’s Choice awards at the Arts for the Parks competition. Her paintings are in the permanent collection of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, the Bennington Center for the Arts and the Environmental Defense Fund.
